Information we collect

CEIP collects personal data in the course of its business activities, including in connection with some customer services. We also collect personal data in certain areas of the Site when you register or apply for jobs through the CEIP Jobs section, create a user profile, register for CEIP newsletters and alerts, register for conferences and events. Use of information

CEIP uses your personal data to fulfill your requests for information, process your requests to participate in conferences and events, customize the content you view or receive on the Site, evaluate and improve our services, distribute newsletters and alerts, recruit and evaluate job applicants, analyze the performance and operation of the Site, post your letters to the editor or comments, prevent fraud, enforce our terms of use, comply with all applicable laws and corporate reporting obligations, enforce CEIP’s agreements, and accomplish such other purposes as you may initiate or request. Our site does not track you by collecting personal data about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services. Accordingly, we do not alter our data collection and use practices in response to “do not track” signals transmitted from web browsers.

Use of information collected through mobile devices

In connection with our mobile applications, CEIP may use third-party service providers to analyze user activity to correct errors, monitor usage and improve the performance of the mobile applications. For example, CEIP receives reports on aggregate usage and browsing patterns of some of our mobile applications, including information about the type of device used, items accessed and other events occurring within our applications. CEIP also receives reports of certain bugs that occur within mobile applications.

The lawful basis on which we process your personal data

Our processing of your personal data for the above purposes is based on:

  • In part, from our legitimate interests in promoting and protecting CEIP, building and maintaining relationships. contracting and rendering of our services;
  • In part, on your consent, for example, if you create a user profile, or register to receive our newsletters or alerts, or for business purposes that support web operations, such as understanding and improving the quality of your experience on our website;
  • In part, to comply with the law, when certain information is necessary to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations.

Disclosure of personal data: data recipients and international data transfers

You should be aware that whenever you publicly disclose information online, that information could be collected and used by others. CEIP is not responsible for any actions or policies of third parties that collect information that users publicly disclose in such forums on the Site.

CEIP may provide links to third party websites or information as a service to our users. If you use these links, you will leave the Site. Such links do not constitute or imply an endorsement, sponsorship or recommendation by CEIP of the third party, the third party’s web site or the information contained therein, and CEIP shall not be liable for your use of them. Social networks

The Site may allow you to log in and associate your social media accounts, including but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, with CEIP. The Site may also allow you to log in to a CEIP account using certain social network account credentials.

By associating your social network account with CEIP or logging into a CEIP account using your social network account credentials, you give us permission to access the information you have made available on your public profile for that social network account. The information available on your public profile varies by social network and its settings, but may include your email address, real name, profile picture, gender and location. We use the information we receive from your social network account in accordance with the social network’s terms of use and this Privacy Policy. Security

CEIP has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorized CEIP personnel and external service providers have access to personal data, and these employees and service providers must treat this information confidentially. However, despite these precautions, CEIP cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons will not gain access to your personal data.

Data retention

CEIP retains personal data, as necessary, for the duration of the relevant business relationship.

We may also retain personal data for longer than the duration of the business relationship if we need to retain it to protect against legal claims, use it for analysis or historical record keeping, or to comply with our information management policies and schedules. If you request that we delete your personal data, CEIP will make reasonable attempts to delete all instances of the information in its entirety. Children

The Site is not designed for or directed to children under the age of 16, and CEIP does not knowingly collect or maintain personal data about anyone under this age.

CEIP Recruitment Portal

Through CEIP’s recruiting portal, you can apply for positions at CEIP or sign up for a CEIP recruiting program where you can receive notifications about potential openings or other similar opportunities that may be of interest to you. Your rights

Where granted by applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we have collected about you in order to review, amend or request deletion of the data. You may also have the right to request a copy of the personal data we have collected about you and to have inaccuracies in that data corrected. In certain circumstances, you may also request that we stop processing your personal data.
